After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact caldera and home to around 30,000 large mammals. Within its natural borders, you’ll encounter the Big Five, including the rare black rhino, alongside zebras, wildebeests, elephants, and more. The crater offers one of Africa’s best wildlife-viewing experiences. In the evening, retreat to Africa Safari Karatu, a serene lodge perfectly located to take in the exceptional beauty of the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Start the day with an adventurous waterfall hike guided by a Maasai, passing traditional villages along the way. Visit the Engaresero Footprint Site, where over 400 fossilised hominid footprints, 5 000–19 000 years old, reveal ancient behaviours—some appear to jog, others show unusual toes, and many indicate groups of women and children travelling together. This remarkable site offers a rare glimpse into human history amid stunning landscapes.

Join a Maasai guide for a Flamingo Walk at Lake Natron, where endangered lesser flamingos paint the alkaline waters pink. On day seven, we will drive into the legendary Serengeti, known for its forests, vast savannahs, and the Great Migration of 1.5 million herbivores and predators. In the evening, relax at Africa Safari Ikoma, ideally located between Seronera, Grumeti, and Ikorongo Reserves. Enjoy peaceful birdwatching, observe grazing impalas, or simply soak in the sounds of the African bush as your safari adventure continues.

Settle into a slow, peaceful morning at Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma, surrounded by wide open plains and the distant calls of wildlife. Enjoy a leisurely day at the camp, taking in the views and unwinding between adventures. In the late afternoon, head out on a guided walking safari, exploring the smaller wonders of the bush as the light softens over the Serengeti. As night falls, switch to a thrilling night game drive through the Ikona Wildlife Management Area, where nocturnal animals emerge and the wilderness transforms under the stars. Return to Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma for a restful night in the heart of the African wild.
