Day 1: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

Your 4 Day Lake Mburo & Lake Bunyonyi Safari begins early in the morning as your driver-guide from Ngeye Tours and Travel picks you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. After a briefing, you begin your scenic 4–5 hour journey southwest toward Lake Mburo National Park. The drive offers captivating views of rolling hills, farms, and rural life an excellent introduction to Uganda’s warm countryside. Along the way, you may stop at the famous Equator line for photographs, coffee, and a brief geographical demonstration. As you approach the park, acacia woodlands and open plains become more visible, giving you your first taste of Uganda’s savannah ecosystem.   Upon arrival at Mpogo Safari Lodge, your luxury accommodation just outside the park, you check in and enjoy lunch overlooking the wilderness. The 3–4 hour drive takes you deeper into southwestern Uganda, with dramatic highland landscapes, terraced hills, small villages, and lush greenery creating a visual feast along the way. As you approach Kabale, the air becomes cooler and the scenery more dramatic before Lake Bunyonyi finally appears glittering between rolling hills, dotted with islands, and surrounded by peaceful communities.   You check in at Bunyonyi Safaris Resort, a comfortable mid-range lodge perched on the hillside with sweeping lake views.
