Detailed 6 days Rwanda Safari

Arrival at Kigali International Airport

Upon arrival at Kigali airport, you will meet our tour guide. After the trip briefing, he / she will immediately transfer you to Volcanoes national park. 6 Days Rwanda Safari This is a 3 hours’ drive following a picturesque and scenic drive northwards to Kinigi – the park headquarters. Overnight stay at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Virunga Lodge. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Tiloreza Volcanoes Eco Lodge, etc

After an early breakfast you will converge with other trackers at Kinigi headquarters for briefing on the gorilla trekking of the day.

At 8:00 am all trackers will transfer to the gorilla trekking trails at the foothills. Upon encounter of the gorillas, you will be allowed at least an hour to interact with gorillas before leaving the forest. In the afternoon you may visit I’byiwachu Cultural Village or enjoy a nature walk to the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo.

Transfer to Nyungwe Forest via Kibuye

Transfer to Nyungwe forest through lake Kivu and Kibuye. This is approximately a 7 hours’ drive. If not exhausted by the long drive, you do a canopy walk starting from Uwinka P6 Days Rwanda Safariark information centre. Overnight stay at One & Only Nyungwe Lodge, Nyungwe Top view Lodge or Gisakura Lodge

Chimpanzee tracking

Chimpanzee tracking can be done in either Nyungwe main forest or the adjoining Chamudongo Forest. After tracking transfer to Kigali. This is a 6 hours’ drive. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali conference Centre, Kigali Marriott Hotel, etc.

Transfer to Akagera national park for a game drive

Early in the morning, transfer to Akagera national park for the game drive that begins at 9:00 am. Overnight stay at Ruzizi tented camp, Akagera game Lodge, etc

Game drive

Start with a 7:00 am a game drive that ends at 11:00 am. Expect to see the Big Five Including Lions, elephants, buffaloes, Rhinos and leopards. In the afternoon return to Kigali for your evening international flight.

End of the tour
